West was drafted 190th overall by the Erie Otters at the 2019 OHL. Last season he played with the Navan Grads of the CCHL. In 45 games played, West earned a 3.33 GAA with a .899 SAV%.
Barrie acquired West from Erie on August 6th for a conditional draft pick. West had committed to Union College of the NCAA but is expected to be a big piece of the Colts moving forward.
