Trade: Barrie Colts Trade Justin Murray to Saginaw Spirit in 3 Team Deal. #OHL


The Barrie Colts have traded captain Justin Murray to the Saginaw Spirit. The deal involves the Kitchener Rangers and Saginaw Spirit.

The deal sees Murray go to Saginaw, defenceman Jack York to Barrie and Ryan Stepian to Kitchener.

Barrie also acquired a 5th round pick at the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Jack York is playing in his second season with the Rangers. in 85 OHL games, he has 4 goals and 17 assists. The defenceman was drafted by Kitchener 98th overall in 2016.

Justin Murray has served as the Colts captain for the last two seasons. Murray was drafted by the Colts 145th overall at the 2014 OHL Priority Selection Draft. Over four seasons in Barrie, Murray has played 221 games posting 17 goals and 68 assists. Murray has matched his career high in goals with six already this season through 28 games.

We would like to wish Justin the best of luck in Saginaw. Murray was a great captain and an even better member of our community. Colts fans will miss him.
