The Barrie Colts have selected defenceman Brandt Clarke of the Don Mills Flyers with their 4th overall selection at the OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Here is a video profile on Clarke.

Position: Defence
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 174 lbs
DOB: February 9, 2003
Team: Don Mills Flyers (GTMMHL)

The Don Mills Flyers are coming off an incredible season and Brandt Clarke was a huge factor in the team's success. He finished the season with 35 goals and 78 assists in 73 games played. The team went on to win the OHL Cup in overtime, with Clarke getting an assist on Brennan Othmann's game-winning goal. Clarke led defencemen in the tournament with 2 goals and nine assists.

Ryan McArthur wrote about his top-20 prospects and this is what he had to say about Clarke.
Brandt Clarke is going to make an OHL fan base very, very happy. The offensively gifted defenceman is oozing with skill and is very creative in the offensive zone. He can make all the fancy plays and it’s easy to see the similarities between him and his brother Graeme (forward for the Ottawa 67s). His stick handling and deceptive dekes are unmatched in this draft class. Clarke has incredible puck skills – he can make it disappear like he’s doing a magic trick when the opponent tries to take it off him.

Clarke will be a big piece for the Barrie Colts on the back end and will help with point production as well. Be sure to give him a follow on Twitter, and welcome him to Barrie!
