Barrie Colts defenceman Brandt Clarke has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings selected Clarke eighth overall at the 2021 NHL Draft. Clarke will join a Kings team already full of prospect talent including other former OHL players including Quinton Byfield and Arthur Kaliyev.

Clarke played HC Nové Zámky in Slovakia last season during the lockdown in Ontario. He scored five goals and ten assists through 26 games. He also won gold with Canada at the 2021 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship scoring two goals and five assists.

Clarke is expected to return to Barrie following the upcoming camp though that hasn't been confirmed. We would like to congratulate Brandt on his contract signing!
