LIVE from True North Square in downtown Winnipeg, MB — join us in honouring late team legend and Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame member Dale Hawerchuk with a statue unveiling at True North Square's plaza.
The event, which will last approximately 30 minutes, will include an address from Hawerchuk's wife Crystal, the NHL's Sr. Vice President of Hockey Operations and former Winnipeg Jet Kris King, former Canada Cup teammate and fellow Hockey Hall of Fame member Paul Coffey, former Jets teammate Dave Ellett, former Jets teammate and current Jets Associate Coach Scott Arniel, and Jets forward Mark Scheifele, to whom Hawerchuk was an influential coach and mentor.
The ceremony will also be attended by many of Hawerchuk's former teammates and Jets alumni including Randy Carlyle, Serge Savard, Dave Babych, Paul MacLean, Laurie Boschman, Lucien DeBlois, Jim Kyte, Tim Watters, Brian Mullen, Ray Neufeld, Jimmy Mann, Randy Gilhen and Jordy Douglas.
The statue was sculpted by Erik Blome of Figurative Art Studio, and is located at the corner of Honourary Dale Hawerchuk Way (Graham Avenue) and Hargrave Street.
