Game Preview: @OHLBarrieColts host the @OHLIceDogs. #OHL

Tonight, the Barrie Colts host the Niagara IceDogs. This is the first of six meetings this season, three of which take place this month.

Niagara currently sits in 4th place in the Central Division trailing the Division leading Colts by 18 points. Though the IceDogs might not be where they want to half way through the season the currently are riding a 2 game win streak and have a 6-2-0-2 record in their last 10 games. They are coming off of winning a home and home series last weekend against Kitchener where they won the first game on the road 5-1 and won the second game at home 6-5. Blake Siebenaler had a hat trick in the second game to increase his point total to 21 on the season.

The Colts are hoping to increase their win streak to 8 tonight and currently are 9-1-0-0 in the last 10 games which is the best in the OHL. They are coming off a huge win last weekend having defeated the London Knights 10-3. Both captain, Joseph Blandisi (3G,1A) and Andrew Mangiapane (1G,3A) had a 4 point night each while Kevin Labanc had an incredible 5 point night (1G,4A) which extended his current point streak to 23 games (15G,34A).

Keys to success: Keep up the momentum they have going. Right now the team is obviously feeling good! Blackwood has won 12 of his last 13 starts. The team has been putting up a lot of points and they currently have great chemistry in every end of the ice. Though discipline is always a potential problem for the team they have not let it get the best of them lately and have also noticeably made a stronger effort to get more pucks on net, and the win loss record shows that!

Players to watch: As noted earlier, Kevin Labanc is on a 23 game point streak. Watch tonight to see if he is able to continue that. Also Blandisi has also been hot lately having scored possibly one of the most beautiful goals of the season last weekend against Kingston. If you missed it, here you go!

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 tonight at BMC here in Barrie!
