Game Preview: @OHLBarrieColts head to Mississauga to face the @OHLSteelheads! #OHL

Tonight the Colts are in Mississauga where they will be taking on the Steelheads for their 4th of 6 meetings this season. The Colts have won the 3 previous game outscoring the Steelheads 14-4. The last meeting saw the Colts win 3-0 in Barrie. Will the Steelheads be able to beat Barrie on home ice?

Mississauga currently sits in 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Wins are not coming easily for them. In the last 10 games they have a 2-8-0-0 record. Having had the last week off following a huge loss to Sault Ste. Marie 7-1 they look to get back on a winning track hoping to climb the standings a little as the playoffs start in a little under 2 months. A win over a top team like Barrie could help with that!

Barrie sits in 2nd in the East. Trailing 1st place Oshawa by 18 points seems like an impossible hill to climb but motivation to win is easy when you have North Bay biting at your heels for that 2nd place spot. Colts are coming off a 3-2 OT win last night over Kingston which saw them win their 30th game of the season. Though a struggling Mississauga team seems like an easy 2 points, you can never count out any team at this level especially during the playoff race.

Keys to Success: Score more goals than the other team. Okay, and stay disciplined. Barrie is able to control the puck in the opposing teams end which is the best defense you can have. If they can control the puck they should have no problem getting a win tonight.

Players to Watch: Last time these teams met in Mississauga Roy Radke got 2 goals and an assist. Look for him to make a difference. Also, Andrew Mangiapane might be looking to up his potential draft positioning. A huge game tonight could help build momentum for him heading towards the playoffs!

Jimmy Lodge has been great since joining the Steelheads. He currently leads the team with 47 points. He is a player the Colts will want to keep an eye on.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 in Mississauga!
