Game Preview: @OHLBarrieColts vs @OHLBulls Game 3. #OHL #Playoffs

Tonight is Game 3 of the Quarter Finals between the Barrie Colts vs Belleville Bulls. The Colts currently have a 2-0 lead in the best of 7 series with a win last Monday by a score of 8-2.

The Colts for the most part dominated the Bulls in Game 2. They out shot Belleville 42-27; Went 5-7 on the power play and only allowed 1 goal on 5 penalty kills. First period was a bit tight. Despite Barrie only allowing 4 shots on goal the Bulls managed to still score a 2 but from then on Mackenzie Blackwood would stop the 23 shots he faced in the last two frames.

Captain, Joseph Blandisi had a huge night for the Colts scoring 2 goals and 2 assists while Ben Harpur would get an assist as well as score what would be the game winning goal. Harpur has truly shown why the Colts made a move for him at the deadline. He has not only been a force offensively but has been great protecting our end with Jonny Laser. Andrew Mangiapane and Garrett Hooey also scored a goal and got an assist each while Michael Webster and Justin Scott both would get two helpers each.

Secondary scoring was huge for the Colts in this game. 12 of 18 dressed skaters made the score sheet which is what you need if you plan on making a strong playoff run.

Keys to Success: Carry the momentum from game 2 into Belleville tonight. The Colts were able to draw penalties because they were always skating hard and applying pressure in the offensive zone. And when they got chances on the PP they were capitalizing. There has been 20 power play chances over the first 2 games with 28 calls total if you count offsetting minors. Special teams will be important at this rate and if the Colts can keep success on both the power play and penalty kill they should have no issues getting the win.

Players to Watch: The Officials might be the ones you need to watch. At times they seem to be calling EVERYTHING and then you will see them calling nothing. Fine if you want to call the game either way but you need consistency. In game 1 it looked like the Colts were getting really frustrated and if they hope to keep this round clean they will make an effort to call a more consistent game.

Also, look for Ben Harper to continue to be a monster on the blue line. Kid has been unreal and you know he is looking to be a huge part of a strong playoff run.

Puck drop is set for 7:05 tonight in Belleville!
