Trade: Barrie Colts Trade Lucas Chiodo to Ottawa 67's. #OHL

The Barrie Colts announced shortly after the OA trade deadline that they have sent forward Lucas Chiodo to the Ottawa 67's.

In return, Barrie receives a 3rd round pick in 2021(Greyhounds), a 2nd round pick in 2024 (Frontenacs) as well as the rights to Shaw Boomhower.

Boomhower currently plays in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones. He spent OHL time with the Mississauga Steelheads and Ottawa 67's before heading over to play in the ECHL this season. In 11 games this season he has 3 goals. During his time in the OHL, he played 99 games, putting up 16 goals and 17 assists. There has been no official announcement yet if Boomhower will be joining the Colts roster.

Lucas Chiodo spent his entire OHL career with the Barrie Colts after being drafted in the 15th round at the 2014 OHL Draft. He has played 227 regular season games with the Ponies, putting up 72 goals and 120 assists.

This season, Chiodo was the team's point leader with 19 goals and 31 assists. Lucas was a fan favourite here in Barrie and will no doubt be missed by his teammates, as well as Colts fans. We would like to wish him the best of luck in Ottawa!
