Team Canada Wins Gold at IIHF World Championship | Andrew Mangiapane Named MVP.

Yesterday, Barrie Colts alumni forward Andrew Mangiapane and Team Canada won gold at the 2021 IIHF Men's World Championship!

Representing his country for the first time in his career, Mangiapane did everything but disappoint! He went on to lead the tournament in goals with seven, including the game-winning goals in both the quarterfinal and semifinal games. He also added four assists totalling 11 points which were third-most in the tournament.

While he was left off the score sheet in the gold medal game, he still went on to be named tournaments MVP.

Earlier in the day, a former linemate of Mangiapane in Barrie Kevin Labanc would win a bronze medal in Team USA's 6-1 win over Germany. We would like to congratulate both Mangiapane and Labanc on their successful tournaments!
