Game Preview: @OHLBarrieColts vs @Sudbury_Wolves #OHL

Tonight the Barrie Colts are hosting the Sudbury Wolves. (1-6-0-0)

Lets not beat around the bush here, the Wolves are off to a terrible start to the season. In 7 games they have 1 win, they have only managed to score 7 goals total and allowed 29 goals against. For those of you at home keeping score, that has them tied for fewest goals for and leading the league in goals against in all of the OHL. I am sure that is not a leading stat they are were hoping to have.

They are hoping for a bounce back game from last weekend having been lit up by Owen Sound on home ice 8-2. That same week they allowed 6 goals in two other games. 6 in each game, not total..

If they want to have any luck against the Colts they will need to score goals (obviously) and Mac Blackwood has not made that easy for opposing teams. Though you cant help but wonder if he will be given the night off considering the slow start the Wolves are off to this season.

The Colts are coming off a 4-3 win over the Knights last night in London. For the recap, click here.

Keys to success: Do I need to say discipline? This has been a continuous theme for the Colts this season. Though their 4-1-1-0 record may tell you otherwise, the Colts have shown zero discipline. Blackwood has had to stand on his head as well since the majority of those games the Colts have been heavily out shot. A team like Sudbury is looking to get some momentum going and a Barrie Colt team that is spending half the game in the penalty box could give them that opportunity. If the Colts want to win, they got to smarten up.

Players to Watch: Joseph Blandisi. This kid is off to an UNREAL start to the season. He currently leads the OHL with most points with 17 total. Remember, this is in 6 games. That is an average of 2.83 points a game. He is on pace to get 192 points. Is it likely he will maintain that? Probably not, but right now he is on fire and has shown no signs of slowing down. Everyone might be talking about Connor McDavid but right now, Blandisi is running the show!

Tonight is also alumni night and the Colts will be remembering Blaine Down. He will be in attendance and will be honoured pre game. For more info on Blaine and his time with the Colts and life after the Colts, click here!

Puck drop at BMC is set for 7:30.
